You are far beyond Human Regular Intelligence
It’s human nature to think highly about yourself. People tend to see themselves as the main character in every story. That’s guilty of the main character syndrome. And that is why it’s hard to tell someone that they are not as smart as they think they are, but cut the craps. Who is going to believe you when your certification as a trained psychologist is not on your front desk; neither are you a clergyman! More realistically, even certified psychologists and clergymen will not find this task easy. They will need to build a very strong premise before letting the cat out of the bag. However, here are a few tips to know that you have a more mentally alert brain than most people.
1. You are inquisitive.
Super-intelligent people are curious. Most humans are inquisitive so you may not want to see this as a characteristic, but it is. There are different faces of inquisitiveness. Regular people may be nosy or meddlesome in people’s affairs, but that is not the face of inquisitiveness we are concerned with here. The curiosity of super smart people is more concerned with why things work the way they do; why things seem the way they do; how life got to this point; what must have been before the present, and what would be after it. This inquisitiveness is not the only thing that cuts the difference; geniuses also explore as much as they quiz the phenomenon, generating leads and answers for themselves. If you act this way, there is a chance that you are super smart. However, let’s see other features before jumping to a conclusion.
2. You are an active listener.
Highly intelligent men and women always listen to others keenly. They listen in between lines and get what the speaker means and what the speaker is leaving out. This reveals that highly intelligent people listen more and talk less. In the course of active listening, they pick up other information about the speaker.
3. You manifest a very strong retentive memory.
Highly intelligent people, of course, have retentive memory. This is not limited to bookwork. The ability to recall specific details of people, conversations, and scenery, even to the point of picking the smallest details is an attribute of intelligence. Recalling details for details proves that highly intelligent people are very much aware of their surroundings. Super-smart people also exhibit bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. This means that they can remember, replicate and innovate patterns of movement and speech. They can easily mimic other people with less effort. This shows that they have stronger dexterity and greater coordination than the average person.
4. You tackle problems in unique ways.
If you have a unique way of tackling problems, then chances are high that you are above regular intelligence. Geniuses have unique problem-solving abilities. That is why they think outside the box to get things done. When it comes to mental reactions, they are a step ahead as they think like everyone but still go on to think about better, faster and more reliable ways to deal with such problems. A quantitative aptitude test or a puzzle game will show that highly intelligent people also figure out solutions to problems faster than the average intelligent person. And this is a picture of the reality of life.
5. You prepare for the Unexpected.
There are two sets of people ambiguity does not threaten: those who have a lackadaisical walk with life and those who are highly intelligent. While the former does not give a damn about anything, the latter believes that he has the toolbox to polish ambiguity into lucidity.
Smart people understand that some challenges of life come unexpectedly. Regardless, they are anticipatory of this and develop mechanisms to help them deal with such times. This response to unexpected things is because they have sharper mental acuity than most persons. Hence, they are forewarned and are prepared for adaptation if the worst comes to manifestation.
6. You are modest about your intelligence.
Have you ever heard of the Dunning-Kruger Effect? Well, if you haven’t, this is a good time. This effect expresses the view that people who are less competent overestimate their ability. This is so for those who are “just intelligent”. They tend to think that they know so well. On the other hand, those who are real geniuses tend to underestimate their ability. So, when people say that you are a genius and you feel you are just like every other intelligent person, you may be above the “just intelligent” people. Remember, geniuses hardly praise themselves.
